Data included in the current version of WISEdash include enrollment and attendance, WSAS, ACT, AP and Student Growth Percentiles. Multi-Dimensional Analytic Tool (MDAT)
What is MDAT?
MDAT is a flexible, web-based tool that allows authorized users to
- create reports that compare achievement over time in relation to WKCE data
- select variables and filters to answer questions of their choice
- access specific data and variables based on their user role
- use charts and graphs to analyze school and student progress over time
Additionally, the following enhancements were added in March:
- Group size highlighting
- State and district comparisons
- Availability of student detail from a district wide query (Tiers 1-3 only)
- The addition of school name to the download file (Tier 1 only)
- An option to download all student details for certain queries (Tier 1 only)
- As an individual user, how do I get access to MDAT?
To gain access to MDAT, as well as to log in to the application, you must have a WAMS Wisconsin User ID. Once you have your WAMS ID, your district MDAT Application Administrator can authorize and set up your access using your WAMS Wisconsin User ID. Please email your district MDAT Application Administrator to inquire about access to MDAT. If you do not know who your district MDAT Application Administrator is for MDAT, click here. If a MDAT Application Administrator is not listed for your district, please contact your District Security Administrator to assign one.
- How do I become a district Application Administrator to enable users in my district to use MDAT?
For your district to be able to use MDAT a District Security Administrator must be set up by DPI in the DPI Application Security Manager (ASM) tool. This tool enables the District Security Administrator to delegate Application Administrator(s) to MDAT who will then be able to provide authorized users in their district with access to MDAT. Please see DPI Application Security Manager (ASM) for more information on the steps necessary to start the process of enabling your district to use MDAT.

What is the MDAT Training Version?
The MDAT Training version of the application contains fictitious data and should be used for presentations and training purposes. The goal of this version of the tool is to enable hands-on training sessions to be held for users while ensuring student data remains confidential.
Confidentiality and security protocols should be exercised in all training involving school or district data. If a training participant already has access to MDAT, they may view their own data in the class, but must keep their data secure from other users. Participants without access to their own school or district data should use the MDAT Training Application for hands-on work.

- As an individual district user, how do I get access to the MDAT Training Version?
To gain access to the MDAT Training Version, please follow the same procedures listed above to gain access to MDAT.
- How do I enable users in my district to use the MDAT Training Version?
For your district to be able to use the MDAT Training Version, please follow the same procedures listed above that you would follow to enable users in your district to use MDAT.
- I am a trainer holding a training session. How do I gain access to the MDAT Training Version?
If you are an MDAT user within a specific district, follow the same procedures listed above that you would follow to request MDAT access. If you are holding a training session and would like to use MDAT Training but are not in a specific district (for example, a CESA representative), please open a ticket using the DPI Online Helpdesk.
- I am holding a training session. How do I enable participants in the training session to use the MDAT Training Version if they have not been setup with access yet within their district?
In order for training participants without access to MDAT to use MDAT Training, please submit a request through the DPI Online Helpdesk, and we will email you with a temporary ID and password for your training session/data retreat. That ID/password will expire following the class and participants should be notified to request individual access to MDAT Training if they would like regular use of the tool.
