EDFacts is a U.S. Department of Education initiative to put performance data at the center of policy, management and budget decisions for all K-12 educational programs. EDFacts is a collection of data specifications, guidance, and a centralized portal through which Wisconsin and all other states submit their educational data to the U.S. Department of Education.
Many of the requirements of WSLS and ISES and other DPI data collections are driven by the data required to be submitted through EDFacts to the federal government. Submission of Wisconsin data meets the data requirements of annual and final grant reporting, and specific program mandates.
EDFacts centralizes performance data supplied by K-12 state education agencies (SEAs) with other data assets so that they can be transparently shared with researchers, educators, and legislators as the nation makes policy and budget decisions. many EDFacts datasets are available at the National center for Educational Statistics (NCES).
